Launch of the AXA Masterclass with Prof. Helen Colhoun

A novel Masterclass series from the AXA Research Fund has been launched today, which aims to provide a detailed overview of a scientific topic of interest to the non-scientific community (but may also include scientists, policy makers etc.) in an accessible, engaging format.

As part of our outreach activities for public understanding of our research, Professor Helen Colhoun has created a Masterclass session entitled 'More Data, Better Health', which encompasses how technological advances have radically changed the way we collect, manage, and analyze health data. This is subsequently opening new perspectives for health research and may have an enormous impact in disease detection as well as treatment.  The Masterclass draws upon Prof. Colhoun's 25+ years of expertise and ongoing research into risk prediction modelling of diabetes and associated complications using an established national diabetes research platform and linked electronic health records.
